Welcome to the
University of New Orleans' Student Housing Webpage! The Department of Student Housing mission is to provide our resident students with the highest quality living and learning environment at a reasonable cost. “dedicated to a quality living and learning home…” We hope you find this website to be useful in making your decision to live on campus! The college experience is more than just time spent in the classroom. It includes being part of the university's academic, recreational and social communities. This living/learning environment is one that can't be matched at home or in an off-campus apartment. At the University of New Orleans, you will have the opportunity to form friendships with people from diverse backgrounds. With these new friends, you can enjoy campus life and the charms of the city of New Orleans! Here are some of our most frequently asked questions regarding student housing: • Are freshmen required to live on campus? Freshmen are not required to live on campus. However, living on campus is convenient and fun. • When and how do I apply for student housing? Housing applications are completely separate from the Application for Undergraduate or Graduate Admission. Applications for Residency in Pontchartrain Hall should be submitted after the Application for Admission has been submitted. Students do not have to be admitted to UNO to apply for student housing, but the admission application must be submitted first. Students interested in living on campus may apply for housing at any time. However, students interested in Pontchartrain Hall are encouraged to apply before the end of May for either the Fall and/or Summer semesters and October for the Spring semester. Room and apartment assignments are processes on a first come first serve basis. Therefore, students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. • Are freshmen allowed to have cars on campus? • When will I receive my room or apartment assignment? |
